Bomb Scare In Fullerton, Residents Evacuated

Police told residents to avoid the 400 block of East Truslow on Friday, due to the investigation of a "suspicious device."

FULLERTON, CA — A suspicious device was rendered safe after about 3 hours in Fullerton, police said.

Police were alerted to the "pipe-like device' at approximately 9 a.m., on the 400 block of East Truslow.

Fullerton Police Officers evacuated nearby residents as a precaution and the Orange County Bomb Squad was called to assist in the investigation, Fullerton Police Department Sgt. John Radus said.

The device was declared safe, and officers cleared the scene by 9:40 a.m., Radus said.

As of this report it was unclear what the "pipe-like" device was, or how officers became alerted to its presence.
