On Friday, June 23rd Be The Match Registry® will host a bone marrow match drive for Sydney Stewart, the daughter of retired Anaheim Fire & Rescue Deputy Chief and current Disneyland Fire Chief Kevin Stewart.

In April, Stewart, an athletic 20-year-old college student, was diagnosed with Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis. She spent almost two months in the hospital with three separate life-threatening ICU admissions. A bone marrow transplant will help her recover, but finding a match can be difficult.

The Anaheim Fire Family in coordination with Anaheim Fire & Rescue and Be The Match Registry® is asking their Orange County communities to come out and be a donor and save a life. Donors must be between the ages of 10 to 40 years old.

The process is fast and simple. Includes getting the inside of one’s cheek swabbed for 10 seconds. Stewart, who does need a donor, is also committed to helping get as many people registered into the Be The Match Registry® to help those in need.

When: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, June 23
