Boy’s Dramatic 50-Foot Plunge Off Disneyland Ride Triggers New Park Rule

A series of warnings were installed around Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Disneyland.

ANAHEIM, CA — After a boy plunged 50-feet off a famed Disneyland ride in front of horrified onlookers this summer, a series of news signs have popped up around the park warning people of the risks.

A total of 12 new signs were added around Tiana's Bayou Adventure at the Anaheim theme park, warning guests that they will be removed from the park if they choose to stand up while riding on the log-flume ride.

Matthew Desmond, who runs the Disney Scoop Guy account on X, posted about the new signage this week.

Desmond noted that the signs clarify the language used in earlier warnings, which stated that the guests "may" be removed from the park.

Disneyland officials told KTLA that teams are evaluating actions to help enforce safety rules at Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

The signs come after a 13-year-old boy exited his log flume on Tiana's Bayou Adventure before the end of the ride on June 21, prompting a cast member to stop the attraction.

Video from the incident depicted the teen sliding down the ride's 50-foot drop after exiting the log at the top of the hill.

He sustained only minor scrapes and was taken to a local hospital.
