#1 NYT Bestseller & longtime High School Running Coach Martin Dugard to Host Book Signing and Talk

Martin Dugard, the legendary running coach at Santa Margarita Catholic High School and world-renowned author is hosting a community book signing and talk on Saturday, April 25. Coming off the release of his most ambitious work to date, The Long Run, Dugard will discuss the untold story of the 1970s running boom and how “26.2” became a global phenomenon.

The Long Run (April 14 release) is a narrative history of the four legends who sparked the original marathon boom: Steve Prefontaine, Frank Shorter, Joan Benoit Samuelson, and Grete Waitz.

The book signing is being held between the Boston Marathon and the OC Marathon, coinciding with the start of the CIF track and field postseason.
