The Joy of California Native Plants with Mike Evans
Event Details
Mike Evans will discuss the joy of California native plants at the June 9th meeting of the Orange County Organic Gardening Club. Mike Evans is a nurseryman, native plant horticulturist, and the founder and president of Tree of Life Nursery in San Juan Capistrano. For more than 45 years, the nursery propagated and sold nearly 400 varieties of native plants while serving as an educational hub for the broader community. In addition to running the nursery, Mike is a widely published writer, public speaker, college instructor, and consultant. After closing the nursery, Mike Evans founded the California Native Horticultural Foundation to promote the use of California native plants.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. on Tuesday June 9th at Centennial Farm in the Orange County Fairgrounds (88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa 92627). Meetings are free to the public.
