Car Slams Into Fire Department Garage In Fullerton

FULLERTON, CA — A motorist crashed a vehicle into a Fullerton fire station, suffering minor injuries, authorities said Monday.

Firefighters inside Fullerton's Station No. 4 were alerted when their building rattled, just after 11:30 p.m. according to Fullerton police Lt. J. Arana.

The driver rammed his vehicle into the garage area of the fire station, crumpling that door and causing minor damage to the station, he said.

No firefighters were injured. As for the driver, he received care immediately from the emergency responders at the scene, even as authorities were called.

Investigators were working to determine if the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time, Arana said.
