Car Smashes Into Denny's In Orange County

BUENA PARK, CA - Restaurant goers in Buena Park were startled Monday morning when a small vehicle slammed into the Orangethorpe Denny's during breakfast hours.

Orange County Fire Authority emergency responders and Buena Park Police Officers both rushed to the scene at just after 9 a.m.

The four-door blue vehicle had launched up the grass and into the side of the restaurant.

"Only the driver sustained injuries in the crash," OCFA Capt. Tony Bommarito reported over Twitter. No one inside the restaurant was hurt, he said.

Firefighters forcibly removed the vehicle's door to extricate the unidentified female driver, who was rushed to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.

The restaurant was closed during inspection of the wreckage, Bommarito said.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
