Cops Want To Catch Up With Alleged McDonald's Condiment Attacker

These OC cops are seeking a woman who is suspected of attacking a McDonald's employee after not receiving enough ketchup at the drive-thru.

SANTA ANA, CA — Local cops are hoping to catch up to this woman who fought with a Santa Ana McDonald's manager. On Tuesday, police released the video that they hope will lead to an arrest.

On Oct. 27, a customer ordered food through the McDonald's drive-thru lane in the 1500 block of N. Bristol Street and became upset when she didn't receive enough ketchup packets, Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said. What happens next startled everyone, both waiting for their drive-thru food and employees of the restaurant.

The irate customer, seen wearing a pink shirt, then enters the restaurant through the employee entrance and verbally and physically confronts a blue-shirted employee with her condiment issue.

When the manager exclaims, 'Hey, you have to go outside,"' then "the real beating erupted," Bertagna said.

In the above video, the suspect is seen grabbing the employee by the neck and hair and slams her into the soda machine, sending cups flying and soft drinks skittering across the floor. All the while, a person inside a car waiting for their order watches in shock and awe.

The suspect repeatedly pummels the female McDonald's employee until a man in a gray hoodie, waiting for his friend at the doorway, was urged to help by other employees.

That man then ran to intervene and "took (the suspect) out of there," Bertagna said. The suspect left without any extra condiments.

Why would ketchup packets slight lead to such a response? According to the cops, this sort of behavior cannot be allowed.

"We take these things seriously," he said. "There's no reason an employee in our city should take a beating over ketchup – it's ridiculous."
