Coroner IDs 91 Freeway Wrong-Way Crash Victim As Orange County Man

At least two cars collided in an early morning head-on crash on the 91 Freeway near Corona, and one person died, officials say.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — A wrong-way driver struck at least one other motorist early Monday, killing an Orange County Man, authorities confirmed.

The head-on wreck happened just after midnight as an eastbound driver struck westbound cars on the 91 freeway west of Lincoln Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Both vehicles caught fire, witnesses told the CHP. Efforts by civilians to put out the flames were not successful. News video from the scene showed two burned cars.

Placentia resident Jeremy Breen, 22, was killed in the crash. It was not clear which car Breen was inside at the time of the crash.

A SigAlert was issued at 12:45 a.m., diverting all westbound traffic off at the Main Street collector road. Lanes were reopened to traffic shortly before 4 a.m., according to CHP.
