CVS To Close 25 MinuteClinics Across SoCal: Here's Where

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — CVS Pharmacy on Thursday released details of plans to close many of its MinuteClinic locations in Southern California by the end of February.

According to company officials, 25 MinuteClinic locations will be closed by Feb. 25 "to help support future growth and design the next evolution of community health destination."

"As part of our normal practice, we continually evaluate MinuteClinic's footprint to ensure it meets the demands of our patients and consumers and aligns with our health care delivery strategy," the company said in a statement, noting that the "difficult" decision to close the clinics was a part of that evaluation.

Eleven MinuteClinic locations will remain open in the area, in addition to on-demand care — which offers telehealth services — that is offered seven days a week, including evenings and weekends, MinuteClinic spokeswoman Monica Prinzing said.

MinuteClinics across the state have become popular in recent years for its convenient scheduling and walk-in policies, according to CVS. Many use the service for shots and testing.
