Disneyland Half Marathon Back On For 2024: How To Register

ANAHEIM, CA — The popular Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend is rejoining the runDisney race schedule starting in January 2024.

The race weekend, the first runDisney event scheduled since 2017, will take place from January 11-14, 2024, and will mark the first runDisney event at Disneyland Resort since 2017.

Registration opens Feb. 14 at www.rundisney.com, according to Disneyland Resort.

Runners can select between a 5K, 10K, half marathon and challenge (10K and half marathon), according to organizers.

Races by runDisney have their unique mark, the biggest of which is the themed medal that defines each half marathon. In years past, Star Wars, Tinkerbelle and Marvel have played big roles in defining what it means to runDisney. Also, during the races, runners get a chance to see the park before it is open, to see and interact with Disney Characters, enjoy special moments and receive commemorative medals to celebrate their accomplishments.

The 2024 ribbon and medal have yet to be revealed.

"The return of the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend is an exciting addition to the 2023-24 runDisney race season, which will kick off in November 2023 with five race weekends at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort," a spokesperson said. The weekend also includes accompanying virtual race options and a summer virtual race series for runners of all ages and fitness levels.

Most race weekends offer a 5K, 10K, half marathon and challenge opportunities, plus a health and fitness expo, while the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend also features a full marathon. With race weekends on both coasts, runDisney is bringing back the runDisney Coast to Coast Race Challenge in 2024, which awards medals to runners who participate in select races on both coasts.

In all, more than 100,000 runners from across the country are expected to participate in runDisney events next season.

General registration for the virtual series begins on April 25, 2023. All virtual races are for U.S. participants only.
