Disneyland Introduces Interactive Ewok At Galaxy's Edge: What To Know, Where To Find Them

ANAHEIM, CA — If you like BB-8 and loved R2-D2, you might be just the right person to take home a Batuu Buddy, Disneyland Resorts suggests. The little interactive toy with LCD eyes, facial expressions and more will be available for purchase on Friday, Aug. 13 at the Disneyland Resort Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

"They might be small in stature, but Ewoks are truly unforgettable since their on-screen debut in Return of the Jedi," Peyton Schultze, spokesperson for Disney Experiences, tells us. "Ewoks have charmed generations of Star Wars fans with their courage, curiosity, and unmistakable personality."

Each Ewok can also interact with other droids sold inside Droid Depot. It can also interact with the world of Batuu, deepening your experience with the park, according to Disneyland's Instagram. This, on the heels of Disneyland's 2026 goals of balancing how many visitors need to be on their phones.

On Aug. 13, you’ll have the chance to purchase an interactive Ewok companion inside Droid Depot at Disneyland Resort, kicking off the initial launch of the Batuu Adventure Buddies collection.

Plus, you can customize your Ewok with themed gear sets inspired by iconic destinations and beloved characters from across the galaxy, for an additional fee, according to Schultze.

The gear comes in Endor, Mandalore, or Batuu sets, each with individual armor, ponchos and more.

Already, fans are weighing in on the little guy, with many commenting that this is "an immediate purchase."

"I feel like this was made for me," one commenter said.

If Ewoks aren't your thing, never fear. You can still build your own droid at the depot.
