Dragon Kim Foundation Announces Recent Grants Totaling Nearly $125,000

The Dragon Kim Foundation, an Orange County-based nonprofit – http://dragonkimfoundation.org – whose mission is to inspire youth to impact their communities while discovering and pursuing their passions, today announced it has received $124,097.94 in recent funding.

The grants included:

$50,000 from The Henry L. Guenther Foundation, a private non-profit charitable California corporation organized to promote and engage in exclusively charitable endeavors, which will tend to improve social conditions, promote human welfare, and/or alleviate pain and suffering.

$5,597.94 from the OneOC Music Program. OneOC stands as a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive solutions and unwavering support, empowering both nonprofits and companies to execute initiatives for the greater good.

$3,500 from the OCCF Jane Deming Fund, a permanent endowment at the Orange County Community Foundation reflecting Jane Deming’s commitment to charities located in Orange County that are producing, participating in, performing or supporting musical activities, or musical education.

$10,000 from the Orange County Power Authority that provides various grant funding opportunities aimed at supporting local non-profits, schools, educators, and organizations.

$50,000 from the Sun Family Foundation whose goal is to build deep and meaningful relationships with our nonprofit partners so that we can achieve lasting change in the lives of the people we serve and communities it impacts.

$5,000 from the Edwards Lifesciences Foundation that supports many health- and community-focused programs through grants to non-profit organizations.

“We thank these organizations for believing in our mission and supporting us financially,” said Dragon Kim Foundation Co-founder and Board Chairman Daniel Kim. “This generous donation will help further our mission by enabling underserved children to explore their true passions, learn new skills, cultivate outlets for expression and discover ways to give back to their communities.”

Uniquely, the Dragon Kim Foundation offers extensive leadership training, a hands-on mentor and funding for every project from Arizona, California and Nevada accepted into the annual program at no cost to the participants.

Teens accepted into the 2025 Fellowship cohort will implement their projects next summer, supported by grants from the Foundation of up to $5,000. At the end of the program, the top teams will present their project to a panel of esteemed judges at the annual Dragon Challenge. One team will win an additional $5,000 to continue their projects.
