Dump Truck Flips On 405 Freeway, 2 Lanes Blocked: SigAlert

COSTA MESA, CA — Traffic on the Interstate 405 freeway traveling north took a turn for the congested after a dump truck flipped onto its side on the freeway, blocking three lanes and prompting an hourlong SigAlert, the California Highway Patrol said.

At least one person was injured in the crash, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 8:32 a.m. on the Interstate 405 north and Fairview Road. Authorities issued a SigAlert at 8:46 a.m. in order to clean up the debris and mulch that had spilled onto the freeway, authorities said.

As of 10:47 a.m., all of the lanes on the freeway were reopened, according to the CHP log.

The incident caused Thursday morning traffic on the freeway to slow substantially.

Authorities advised residents to steer clear of the area.
