The LAB Anti-Mall welcomes Earlybird Breakfast Burritos, the beloved San Diego-born breakfast concept built around one mission: serving the best breakfast burrito in town.

Known for bold flavors and a devoted following, Earlybird joins the creative community with a grand opening on January 17. The new location will take over the space currently occupied by Barbonzai, whose owner has chosen to retire after several successful years at The Lab.

Founded by Scott Slater, a serial restaurateur and the creator of Slater’s 50/50, theaward-winning, nationally recognized gastropub franchise, Earlybird Breakfast Burritos brings the same spirit of innovation, creativity, and quality to the morning hours.

With its hearty breakfast burritos, fresh ingredients, and sunny Southern California energy, Earlybird BreakfastBurritos has built a loyal following since opening its first location in Pacific Beach, San Diego.

Grand Opening Highlights

• Date: Saturday, January 17, 2026
  • Regular operating hours begin Sunday, January 18 at 7:00 a.m.
  • Free breakfast burritos for the first 25 guests on Jan. 18 and Jan. 19

Guests can look forward to Earlybird Breakfast Burritos’ signature breakfast burritos, sandwiches, and bowls – including favorites like the Bacon Bird with eggs, tater tots, bacon, salsa roja, and guacamole – all made fresh daily. In addition, the Costa Mesa location is introducing Earlybird Bottled Buzz, a house-made morningbeverage lineup featuring drinks like Dirty Boba, Thai iced tea, champurrado-inspired chocolate lattes, Golden Hour turmeric ginger lattes, matcha, and horchata, crafted for grab-and-go energy.
