Extreme Heat Continues Across Orange County: Relief In Sight?

Dehydration, heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible. If you have to be outside, drink plenty of fluids and stay out of the sun.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA โ€” A heat advisory for Orange County was extended until late Thursday night, the National Weather Service said.

Hot, humid weather will continue in the coastal and valley areas through Thursday evening, according to the NWS. The unusually high humidity will also continue through the period.

Overnight lows Wednesday evening will range 68 to 75. Highs Thursday will be similar to what they were Wednesday. At the coast, highs from 81 to 88. Factoring in the humidity, it will "feel like" 89 to 96.

The heat advisory includes cities of:

  • Santa Ana
  • Anaheim
  • Garden Grove
  • Irvine
  • Orange
  • Fullerton
  • Mission Viejo

High temperatures in those areas ranged from 88 to 98 on Wednesday. "When you factor in the humidity, it will feel like 92 to 100," a spokesperson for the NWS said.

  • Dehydration, heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible.
  • If you have to be outside, drink plenty of fluids and stay out of the sun as much as possible.
  • Do not leave young children or pets in parked vehicle.
