Family Grieves Loss Of Mother After Car Crashes Through OC Home

A GoFundMe page was set up for Janet Carillo, a mother who was killed when a car crashed into her Orange County home.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — The Orange County community is rallying to support the family of an Anaheim woman who died when a car crashed into her Garden Grove home on Sunday, May 12.

Janet Carillo Soriano was described by family members as a "beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister" and more.

"In the early morning of Sunday, May 12, there was a horrible accident — a car crashed into their home, taking Janet's life and injuring my brother Oswaldo," a family member wrote on the Carillo family's GoFundMe page. "Janet touched countless lives with her kindness, love and generosity."

Family friend and campaign manager Linda Pena created a GoFundMe page in order to help support Carillo's husband and two teenage boys, Obie and Ian, through this difficult time.

Carillo was killed after a Riverside man allegedly drove into her Garden Grove home early Sunday, authorities said.

The 35-year-old man, whose name was not immediately released, crashed a 2019 Toyota Camry into the bedroom of a house in the 11800 block of Magnolia Street at about 1:55 a.m. Sunday, police said.
