Family Grieves For Teen Fatally Shot In Garden Grove

GARDEN GROVE, CA — The Orange County community was struck by tragedy on Saturday night after a teenage boy was reported dead after being shot outside of a house party in Garden Grove.

The victim was identified by police as Julian Martinez, a Garden Grove High School student who had just turned 17, according to his sister, Desiree. His death is currently under investigation by the Garden Grove Police Department.

Desiree said her brother's death was an act of "gun violence by vicious gang members" on a GoFundMe fundraiser set up to benefit the family.

"This tragedy has shaken my family, and has left us scrambling to come up with expenses for something that we could have never prepared for," Desiree said in the GoFundMe post.
