Got Protective Gear? OC Healthcare To Distribute Donations

Area businesses, this one is for you. Orange County Healthcare Agency is seeking your donations for distribution to healthcare providers.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Protective equipment is in short supply, and the Orange County Health Care Agency is accepting donations from area businesses, they said on Wednesday. OC Healthcare is accepting supplies from corporations and businesses for use by healthcare providers throughout the county, they said, and not the general public, at least for now.

The following types of protective medical supplies will be accepted in only new and unopened containers and boxes:

  • N-95 surgical masks and face shields (all sizes)
  • Disposable gloves (all sizes)
  • Eye protection
  • Medical gowns: Disposable gowns and isolation gowns
  • Antibacterial and disinfecting wipes

The donation offers will be handled by the county's Emergency Operations Center.

Personnel will screen the request, and if the criteria is met, the donation will be forwarded to the Orange County Health Care Agency for further vetting.

Donations will be stored in a temperature-controlled environment prior to distribution.
