Hammitt & Dragon Kim Foundation's Lunar New Year at South Coast Plaza
Festive Lunar New Year celebration and fundraiser benefitting Dragon Kim Foundation set for Feb. 1-2 at Hammitt's South Coast Plaza store
In celebration of Lunar New Year, Hammitt - https://www.hammitt.com - a leader in the American luxury handbag market, will be holding an exciting in-store celebration with a weekend of sips, sweets, and festivities.
The festivities will be held at Hammitt’s South Coast Plaza store at 3333 Bear Street, Suite 109 in Costa Mesa from 10 AM until 8 PM on February 1 and from 11 AM until 7 PM on February 2.
A portion of the weekend’s in-store sales will benefit Orange County-based nonprofit Dragon Kim Foundation (DKF) - http://dragonkimfoundation.org, whose mission is to inspire our youth to impact their communities while discovering and pursuing their passions.

The event continues the relationship between the two organizations. In 2023, Hammitt celebrated Lunar New Year by showcasing hundreds of stylish women’s handbags, purses, wallets and more for sale to a full house of guests, who enjoyed sips and sweets while immersed in a luxe, festive atmosphere at Newport Beach's esteemed Lido House.
During the event, Hammitt donated $5,000 to DKF as a deserving nonprofit organization that's empowering women and children. In turn, DKF Co-founder Daniel Kim presented its Community Partner Award to Hammitt Founder and Chief Cheerleader Tony Drockton to acknowledge his company’s support. Drockton was also a judge and donor at the Foundation’s annual Dragon Challenge, a Shark Tank-style competition that is the culminating event produced by the Foundation.

“Thank you Tony and Hammitt for continuing to believe in our mission,” said Kim. “We are proud to say that Hammitt has supported DKF since 2020.”
Known for their iconic rivets, soft leather, and valued Lifetime Promise, Hammitt designs bags right here in Southern California, with both fashion and functionality in mind. This year marks their 16th anniversary year - the perfect opportunity to host even more celebrations that the brand's loyal following has come to know and love.
The DKF offers a Fellowship program for high school students from California, Nevada and Arizona that includes funding of up to $5,000 for at least 60 summer community service projects, plus a dedicated mentor, three immersive weekends of training, and the chance to make a long-lasting impact on their communities.
The Fellowship was founded in honor of the late Dragon Kim, a talented young musician, athlete and scholar who wanted to help others, and has become a seedbed for the next generation of creative thinkers and entrepreneurs who want to make a difference.
