Heritage Oak Private Education Raises More Than $2,800
Students held a "jean day" fundraiser to support pediatric cancer research and participated in a jogathon to benefit homeless children
Students at Heritage Oak Private Education recently raised more than $2,800 through charitable initiatives to benefit the community. Students hosted a “jean day” fundraiser and collected more than $480 to support pediatric cancer research. The fundraiser is an annual event in honor of a former teacher’s child named Brody, who battled brain cancer as a baby. Over the course of the fundraiser, students and teachers contributed $1 donations in order to wear jeans to school in place of their uniforms.
Students also raised more than $2,300 through their participation in the Fullerton Rotary Jogathon. A portion of the funds benefitted Fullerton’s Love of Orange County Kids (FLOCK), which supports homeless children in Orange County. Through these initiatives, students learned the importance of giving back to their community.
