Horse Named Cactus Rescued By OC Firefighters After Getting Stuck

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — A horse named Cactus will be trotting the trails again soon after receiving a helping hand from Orange County firefighters and deputies.

Technical rescue firefighters helped Cactus out of a sticky situation after he got his leg caught over a gate while in his trailer in Yorba Linda.

Authorities called a veterinarian to the scene to sedate the horse, before firefighters loosened and cut the hinges of the gate to free him.

"We were all happy to see Cactus exit the trailer safely to be further assessed by the veterinarian before going home with his family," an Orange County Fire Authority spokesperson said in a statement.
