House Of Mouse Sticker Shock: See Where Disneyland Is Raising Prices On Hundreds Of Items

ANAHEIM, CA — Prices for hundreds of food and beverage items at Disneyland recently increased, according to reports.

The price hikes affected 178 locations with an average increase of roughly 8 percent or 62 cents per item, Mickey Visit reported earlier this month, noting rates of increase per item varied, ranging from 1.5 percent to 23 percent.

The new prices were not entirely unexpected, as Disneyland also increased its food prices last July, according to Mickey Visit.

Disneyland officials told The Orange County Register that the resort continually evaluates and adjusts restaurant prices, and that its updated food and beverage prices align with industry standards and are lower than its competitors for many items.

Among the offerings seeing a price increase are the classic churro and popcorn, which both went up 50 cents; the vanilla soft serve and chocolate chip cookies, which rose 70 cents; and the cheese pizza slice, which is up by $1, Mickey Visit reported.
Bar drinks, souvenir sippers and tumblers generally rose about $1-2 each, according to Mickey Visit.

“While many of these individual price increases for food items amount to $1, this will quickly add up for families purchasing meals throughout the day, especially when factoring in the increase to beverage prices as well,” the website reported.

One of the larger increases is the wedge salad, up 23 percent and now priced at $14.79, according to Mickey Visit, which noted a category of items that saw no price hike was kids' meals across the resort.
