Husband Killed On Tandem Bike In Huntington Beach
A couple in their late 70s, early 80s riding a bicycle-built-for-two was struck Sunday at Magnolia Street and Hamilton.
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — The Orange County Coroner's Office released the name of a husband who was killed while riding a tandem bicycle through Huntington Beach, Sunday.
Clinton Silverman, a 74-year-old Huntington Beach resident, was riding with his wife when they were struck by an SUV, officials say. The driver of the 2005 Ford Explorer remained at the scene after the incident, and was not under the influence, according to officials.
Both the man and his wife were taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead. His wife, whose name was not released, was in serious condition according to reports from Huntington Beach spokeswoman Jennifer Carey.
