Knife-Wielding Man Fatally Shot By Tustin Police Sunday
The man was reportedly walking the city streets with a large knife and blood on his hands and clothes.
ORANGE COUNTY, CA — A man armed with a knife was shot and killed by Tustin police officers Sunday, authorities said.
The incident was reported at around 8:35 a.m., after officers responded to a call about a suspicious man holding a large knife with blood on his hands and clothing in the area of Warner and Red Hill avenues, the Tustin Police Department said in a statement.
Officers found the man, who was holding a knife and walking in traffic lanes on Warner Avenue, Tustin police Sgt. Colt Kirwan said.

"Shortly after officers contacted the subject, he suddenly advanced on the officers with the knife and an officer-involved shooting occurred," the sergeant said.
The suspect, who was not named by police, was given first aid by officers and Orange County Fire Authority paramedics, but he died at the scene.

Tustin police and the Orange County District Attorney's Office were investigating the shooting and anyone with information was asked to call Detective Haug at 714-573-3246.
