Man Arrested For Alleged DUI After Crash That Killed OC Girl

The suspect is Maximino Delgado of Anaheim.

FULLERTON, CA -- A 52-year-old man was in custody Monday in lieu of $2 million bail on suspicion of felony DUI, felony vehicular manslaughter and driving on a suspended license after allegedly barreling into a residential yard in Fullerton, killing a 6-year-old girl.

The child was identified as Grace Aguilar and neighbors say she was known in the neighborhood as Gracie. The suspect is Maximino Delgado of Anaheim.

Petra Hernandez told the Orange County Register that after striking Gracie with his SUV, Delgado tried to flee but hit her granddaughter's car, which was parked on the sidewalk.

One neighbor wondered if the girl's death could have been avoided, the Register reported. The neighbor said a tree near where the girl was playing had just been removed. Perhaps, he thought, the car would have hit the tree and not Gracie.
