Man Charged With Murder After Woman Found In OC

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — A Diamond Bar man was charged with killing a woman in Huntington Beach, court records show.

Christopher Mendez, 35, was charged with murder and was scheduled to be arragiend in the WestJustice Center in Westminster Tuesday afternoon.

Mendez was arrested at around 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Mexico border as he attempted entry into the United States, the Huntington Beach Police Department reported.

He is being held on $2 million bail after being accused of killing 35-year-old Nicole Marquisee, Walnut resident, on May 31, police said.

Police were dispatched about 2:30 p.m. that day to a residence on the 1100 block of England Street for a suspicious death.

Police would not release any further details.
