Car Submerges In Water Off PCH, Driver In 'Critical' Condition

Authorities responded to reports of a vehicle submerged in the wetlands off of Pacific Coast Highway Tuesday night.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — One person was rescued Tuesday night after their car drove into the wetlands off of Pacific Coast Highway in Orange County, authorities said.

The crash was reported late Tuesday night in the area of Pacific Coast Highway, just south of Warner Avenue in the City of Huntington Beach.

Upon arriving, officers found a single vehicle and entered the water. Authorities were able to pull the single occupant in the vehicle from the water and immediately started CPR.

The driver was moved to a local hospital in critical but stable condition. Their name was not released.

The reason for the crash was under investigation.
