Orange County authorities are still searching for the black dog that was seen in the now-viral video.

ANAHEIM, CA — A man seen on home security video hitting and kicking a dog in the hallway of an apartment complex in Orange County has been identified by police but has not been arrested, authorities reported Tuesday. Authorities haven't been able to find the dog being punched and kicked in the video to verify its welfare.

A spokesperson for the Anaheim Police Department said the man is being investigated for animal cruelty but no charges have been filed against him at this time.

The now-viral video capturing the scene has been shared hundreds of times on social media and led to Anaheim police officers being flooded with tips and calls for action.

Police are still searching for the dog seen in the video, who they believe is a black Goldendoodle or similar breed.
