Man Struck, Killed By Metrolink Orange County Train

The man, who was alive and talking to paramedics at the scene, later died at an area hospital, officials said.

FULLERTON, CA — A man struck by a Metrolink train on Tuesday afternoon died shortly after being transported to an area hospital, officials said.

The victim was struck between the Buena Park and Fullerton stations at approximately 3 p.m., according to Fullerton Police near Commonwealth and Citrus avenues, according to Fullerton police Sgt. Carin Wright.

"He was alive and talking as paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but he later died at an area hospital," Wright said.

Metrolink spokesman Paul Gonzales said the southbound train struck the victim, who was not immediately identified, in a "non-pedestrian area" for unknown reasons.

After 3 p.m. delays of 30 to 45 minutes were reported on the Orange County line, Gonzales said.

Fullerton police are investigating the fatality.
