How to Adopt at OC Animal Care

Thank you for choosing adoption—here’s how the process works:

1. View Available Pets
Browse the Adoptable Pets page and choose an animal who’s ready for adoption (they’ve completed the required holding period).

2. Schedule a Visit or Walk In
You can call (714) 935-6848 to schedule a visit (mention the Animal ID: A1933991), or simply walk in during viewing hours daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

3. Meet the Pet
You’ll spend time with Rico before adopting. Staff will help assess if it’s the right match. (Groups are limited to 5 people. Adoptions are first come, first served—no holds.)

4. Complete the Adoption
Finalize everything with an adoption counselor, pay applicable fees, and receive your paperwork. If medical procedures are needed, you’ll return later for pickup.

5. Give Them Time to Adjust
Transition takes patience. Some pets adjust quickly, others may need up to 8 weeks or more to fully settle into their new home.
