Men Who Tried To Rob Secret Service Agent In Orange County Arrested, Police Say

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Three men were arrested Wednesday in connection with the robbery of a Secret Service agent in Tustin last month.

The suspects were identified as Jamonte Fitzgerald Johnson, Bertran Claude Bell and Eshon Dwayne Dodson.

Johnson is charged wtih robbery and being a felon in possession of a gun with sentencing enhancements for the personal use of a gun, court records show.

Dodson has been charged with robbery with a sentencing enhancements for being armed with a gun in the commission of a felony.

Bell, who was arrested on Los Angeles on Wednesday, was scheduled to show in court on Friday, court records show.

Johnson and Bell were being held without bail, and Dodson was held on $1 million bail.

Johnson is accused of getting out of a vehicle and demanding the belongings of an off-duty Secret Service Agent at gunpoint about 9:30 p.m. June 15, according to Tustin police. The agent managed to draw his service revolver and fire at the suspect, who "was apparently struck by the victim's gunfire," Bell said.

Johnson was arrested in Riverside July 11 with help from parole officials, police said.

Dodson was arrested in Watts on July 17, police said.
