In-N-Out Ranked CA's Best Employer Of 2026

IRVINE, CA — The best employer in California is In-N-Out, which beat the state’s many tech giants to be the top California company on Glassdoor’s ranking of the Best Places to Work 2026.

The Southern California burger chain took the No. 2 spot on the job website’s national ranking of large companies, exceeded only by Crew Carwash in Indiana at No. 1.

Several Bay Area tech employers were in or near the top 10. NVIDIA came in at No. 3, ServiceNow was No. 7 and Google took No. 11.

In a blog post about its top-ranked employers for 2026, Glassdoor noted In-N-Out is “a perennial favorite,” having cracked the top 10 repeatedly over the years, and cited its “combination of competitive pay, flexibility that respects life outside of work, and clear progression for those who want to build long-term careers.”

“In-N-Out’s model shows that flexibility and clear career paths aren't expensive benefits — they're strategic retention tools,” the blog post said. “When frontline employees can both accommodate their lives and see where they could be in two years, you reduce costly turnover and build institutional knowledge.”
