OC Animal Care doesn't want to correct its mistakes
Is the OC animal shelter attempting to cover up its errors? Or is the shelter too sloppy to make sense of its own numbers?
OC Animal Care (OCAC) ran a pilot program in 2023. A paper on this pilot program (published in the Journal of Shelter Medicine and Community Animal Health) shows that more dogs were adopted when visitors had access to the dog kennels. It's common sense!
Shockingly, the shelter has not corrected its website. OCAC claims that its old adoption visit model “resulted in 200% more adoptions as compared to the pilot program”. That’s absurd. Virtually all good shelters allow visitors to walk through the kennels. Why is OCAC persisting in its erroneous analysis? If OCAC doesn’t face the facts, how can it fix its problems?
