OC Family Displaced, 5 Puppies Rescued From Garage Fire Tuesday

GARDEN GROVE, CA — Five puppies and one dog were rescued from a garage fire that displaced a family of six Tuesday in Garden Grove, the Orange County Fire Authority reported.

The fire was reported at around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in the 12000 block of Chili Pepper Lane, where firefighters found a "well-involved" garage fire that was threatening the rest of the home.

"Thanks to a rapid attack of the blaze and a search, all residents were confirmed out and six dogs, including five puppies, were rescued," an OC Fire Authority spokesperson wrote on Facebook.

Authorities said that a California Fire Foundation SAVE card, otherwise known as a cash card, was given to the family of six that was displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, officials said.
