OC Family Riding E-Bikes Struck, Injured By DUI Driver
One adult and two children were rushed to hospitals in critical condition as a result of the crash, authorities said.
ORANGE COUNTY, CA — An Orange County family riding electric bicycles with their three children in tow were struck and injured by an allegedly impaired driver in Garden Grove.
The two adults were riding with the children in bike trailers around 7:35 p.m. Sunday in the 12300 block of Haster Drive at Twin Tree Lane when they were struck by a black 2003 Toyota Camry and the driver fled the scene, authorities said.
"A nearby witness followed the suspect vehicle and notified officers of its whereabouts as it fled the scene of the collision," Traffic Investigator John Yergler said in a statement. "Officers located the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop and detained the driver/solo occupant of the vehicle approximately 1.2 miles from the original collision scene."

One adult and two children were taken to hospitals in critical condition, authorities said. One adult and one child were hospitalized with stable vital signs.
The three critically injured patients remained in that condition Monday, while one of the stable patients was released, Yergler said.

The victims were described by Yergler as a 27-year-old man, a 25-year- old woman, two girls and one boy.
The suspect was identified as Ceferino Ramos, 29, of Santa Ana, Jensen said.
"Sobriety tests were administered and the driver was ultimately arrested for suspected DUI and hit-and-run," Yergler said.
