OC Firefighters Deployed To Aid In Palisades, Eaton Fire: Photos

Orange County firefighters were working exhaustively through Wednesday night to help quell the destructive fires.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Orange County firefighters were working exhaustively through Wednesday night in an effort to quell the Palisades and Eaton fires burning in Los Angeles County.

According to the Orange County Fire Authority, OCFA firefighters were actively assisting communities impacted by the Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire.

Wednesday's response included three engine strike teams, the Santiago Handcrew, and one Firehawk helicopter.

In addition, two Newport Beach Fire Department engines were deployed this week to battle against the destructive, wind-driven wildfires.

According to the city, NE65 from Station 5 and the NBFD's OES engine from Station 6 are currently deployed to battle quick-moving flames from the Palisades Fire and Eaton Fire.

Battalion 65 is also leading a team of nine NBFD firefighters, who worked exhaustively through the night in challenging conditions.

Public Safety Shutoff notices remained in effect for parts of the county, including Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, Trabuco Canyon and Rancho Santa Margarita, according to SoCal Edison.

Power shutoffs are likely to occur if weather conditions create risk for a wildfire, SCE said.
