OC Grand Jury Says Anaheim 'Betrayed' By Angel Stadium Deal: Report

The Orange County Grand Jury said there was a lack of transparency with the Anaheim City Council as it negotiated the Angel Stadium deal.

SANTA ANA, CA — The Orange County Grand Jury said members of the Anaheim City Council betrayed residents because of the secretive and inappropriate way it handled the Angel Stadium sale, Voice of OC reported.

The jury issued a report Monday titled "The Big A Lack of Transparency," which detailed how Anaheim officials rushed the sale of Angel Stadium to Los Angeles Angels owner Arte Moreno and stifled any public discussion about the stadium's sale, according to the report from Voice of OC.

The $30-million stadium sale was halted in May after a federal corruption iinvestigation into now-former Anaheim Mayor Harry Sidhu.
