Authorities are on the lookout for a hit-and-run driver who injured a California Highway Patrol officer in a crash Tuesday morning.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — California Highway Patrol officers are searching for a hit-and-run driver who injured an officer by crashing into the back of a patrol vehicle Tuesday morning.

The crash was reported around 8:15 a.m. on the eastbound 91 Freeway near Euclid Street, according to the California Highway Patrol log.

The CHP officer was conducting a traffic stop on the side of the freeway when his SUV was hit by a driver who left the scene, KTLA reported. He was described as a Hispanic man about 5 feet 7 inches tall wearing a white shirt and blue shorts.
