Orange County City Is 3rd Best To Raise A Family In US, Per Report

A new report published by WalletHub identified an Orange County city as one of the top places in the country to raise a family.

IRVINE, CA — Irvine is one of the top places in the United States to raise a family, a new report found.

Personal finance website WalletHub identified 180 cities across the country, with researchers studying factors such as housing, the quality of local schools, healthcare and opportunities for fun and recreation.

Irvine was listed third best on the list, boasting the second-lowest violent crime rate per capita as well as the 15th-lowest property crime rate per capita.

WalletHub also said that Irvine offers exceptional children's education, with the third-highest percentage of schools boasting a 7+ out of 10 rating.

Irvine also offers the tenth-highest share of two-parent families and the second-lowest separation and divorce rate in the country, according to the report.

The Orange County city follows Fremont, California — which took up the number one spot for mostly economic factors, WalletHub said.

The city offers one of the highest median family incomes at over $137,000 after adjusting the cost of living, as well as the second-lowest share of families living in poverty.
