Orange County Man Charged With Forcibly Sex Trafficking Women In Maine

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — An Orange County man was indicted by a federal grand jury and charged with sex trafficking this past week.

Fullerton resident Shawn Bonneau, 40, was charged with sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and wire fraud.

Bonneau is accused of compelling three adult women to perform commercial sex acts in Maine, and elsewhere, for his financial gain, according to the Department of Justice.

Federal investigators said Bonneau also used electronic mail systems to fraudulently obtain funds from another individual at the same time he was engaging in his sex trafficking scheme.

If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum 15 years in prison, with a maximum penalty of life in prison, as well as a maximum penalty of lifetime supervised release.
