Orange County Man Who Pled Guilty to Rape Skips Sentencing
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Juan Antonio Resendiz Enriquez, 29, after he failed to show for his rape conviction sentencing.
ORANGE COUNTY, CA -- A man who pleaded guilty last month to raping a slumbering woman in Orange failed to show for sentencing Tuesday and a warrant has been issued for his arrest, according to court records.
Juan Antonio Resendiz Enriquez, 29, who was arrested Aug. 22, was out on $100,000 bail he posted on Aug. 27. On May 3, he admitted one count of rape of an unconscious person.
The rape occurred when the victim's roommate let the defendant in an apartment in the 200 block of North State College Boulevard on Aug. 22, Sgt. Phil McMullin of the Orange Police Department said.

Resendiz Enriquez attacked the woman -- who he had never met before -- as she slept in a room of the apartment, McMullin said.
When the victim awakened, the defendant got up and left, but was arrested later in the day in Anaheim, McMullin said.
