Orange County Tax Deadline Is Tuesday: What To Know

The first installment deadline to timely pay secured property taxes for fiscal year 2024-25 is Tuesday, Dec. 10.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — The first installment deadline to timely pay secured property taxes for this upcoming fiscal year without a ten percent penalty is Tuesday, Dec. 10, Orange County Treasurer Shari Freidenrich said Monday.

"I encourage property owners to use our secure online free eCheck payment option at octreasurer.gov/octaxbill" Freidenrich said. "There is no cost for eCheck, you will receive same day credit, receive an emailed receipt and can view and print it for your records. In the last two days, we had almost 20,000 taxpayers pay using eCheck online. Their accounts received same-day credit. Funds will be deducted from their bank account in 2-3 days and update online as paid in two business days."

Mailed payments received after Dec. 10 that do not have a USPS postmark of Dec. 10 or earlier will be charged a 10 percent delinquent penalty.
