Dangerous Wind Conditions In OC Prompts Parks, Zoo Closures
Aggressive winds reached up to 70 miles per hour in Orange County Wednesday, prompting OC Parks to close the county zoo and four parks.
ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Several Orange County parks, as well as the Orange County Zoo, were closed on Wednesday due to dangerous wind conditions reaching up to 70 miles per hour in some parts of the county.
As of Wednesday, Yorba Regional Park, Irvine Regional Park, Peters Canyon Regional Park and Santiago Oaks Regional Park will be closed until further notice. The Orange County Zoo will also remain closed until the wind dies down.
In addition, the monthly ranger-led hike at Carbon Canyon Regional Park was canceled, OC Parks said.
