Orange County's Coronavirus Update: 7,440 Cases, 177 Deaths

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Orange County health officials reported 119 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 and one additional death Sunday, bringing the county's totals to 7,440 cases and 177 fatalities.

The number of hospitalized patients increased from 282 Saturday to 297, and the number of patients in intensive care rose from 122 to 129, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.

The number of people tested for the virus in the county stands at 158,592, with 3,273 documented recoveries.

Men account for 51% of the county's COVID-19 cases and 56% of its deaths.

Santa Ana leads all county cities with 1,464 cases, followed by Anaheim with 1,311. Many of the cases in both cities are tied to long-term nursing care facilities.
