Paradise Pier Pixar Overhaul To Include California Adventure Access

ANAHEIM, CA — Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim will soon be transformed with an all-new theme.

Guests love Paradise Pier for its proximity to the parks and its prices. The new Pixar-themed hotel was premiered to community leaders on Wednesday by Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock.

Imagineers have planned a full "reimagining" of 1940s-era cartoon beach-style resort into the artistry of Pixar.

The plan is to weave Pixar elements into a "comfortable, contemporary setting," according to Potrock.

The transformation with the all-new theme will begin "soon," according to a resort spokesperson. Dates for construction have not yet been revealed.

While more information remains forthcoming, here's what we know as of this report.

Instead of being welcomed into the lobby by Goofy holding a surfboard, guests will be welcomed into whimsical character moments, such as the iconic, playful Pixar Lamp balancing atop its ball in the lobby.

"The reimagining of the hotel will weave the artistry of Pixar into its comfortable, contemporary setting," they said. "Guests will gain a new perspective on some of their favorite Pixar worlds and characters through carefully curated artwork and decor."

Just like the addition of the Pixar Pier to Disney California Adventure, the new theme will overwrite the tried and true40s era of Mickey, Donald and Goofy beachy cartoons from years gone by.

The new story of the hotel will focus on the creative journey of the artists who helped bring the beloved Pixar stories to life.

What's New For Summer Of 2022?

Guests staying at one of the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort will be able to enjoy several new and returning uniquely Disney benefits to staying with us on property.

"As you may know, our guests already enjoy access to Disney California Adventure park directly through Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa entrance and convenient Monorail access for Disneyland Hotel guests," he said. "Today, we’re excited to share that a walkway is currently under construction, which will soon give Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel guests a convenient entrance to Disney California Adventure park."

Other things to look forward to for Disneyland resort fans are a new Disney-themed Alexa-style "voice assistant in each hotel room.

The "Hey Disney!" service, which works alongside Alexa on Amazon Echo devices inside Disneyland Resort hotel rooms, that can make your stay more convenient and engaging. That service is expected later this year.

Concierge service is coming to help guests get the most out of their stay without hauling bags back to hotel rooms. Guests of the Disneyland Resort hotels will have the ability to send select theme park purchases back to their resort hotel.

A return to morning magic is also coming.

"We’re getting ready to offer early entry access," a park spokesperson said.

Guests staying on the property at the Disneyland Resort hotels will be among the first to enter and enjoy select theme park attractions and experiences, they said. Look for all of this as well as more updates to Downtown Disney in the coming months.
