Parentis Foundation Calls for Volunteers to Empower Young Readers in Orange County

Parentis Foundation, an Orange County-based nonprofit, has announced the continued expansion of its Empowering Readers program to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley and the Boys & Girls Club of Fullerton, Expanded Learning Programs. In addition, Parentis Foundation will be kicking off a pilot program in Santa Ana in partnership with the HIVE Program.

They are actively seeking dedicated volunteers aged 50 and above to join their mission to transform young lives through the power of literacy.

Empowering Readers pairs older adults with children in grades 1-5 who are struggling to read, offering one-on-one tutoring sessions twice weekly, either in-person or virtually. As they expand their services, they invite interested parties to be part of this rewarding experience that not only improves children's reading skills but also enriches the lives of their volunteers.

Information Sessions: In-Person and Virtual Information sessions are scheduled throughout the month of July-September at various nearby locations. To learn more details, interested volunteers can visit and register online at parentisfoundation.org/volunteer.

Guiding the next generation of readers to leaders, one child at a time, the program provides comprehensive training and continuous support to ensure both volunteers and students succeed. Those who join will help combat childhood illiteracy and foster a lifelong love for learning in our community.
