Pedestrian Killed In Santa Ana Crash: Police

SANTA ANA, CA — A pedestrian was struck and killed early Sunday in Santa Ana, according to police.
Officers responded shortly after 5 a.m. to multiple calls about a downed pedestrian in traffic in the 900 block of West First Street, police said. The victim was crossing the street when an eastbound vehicle hit him, according to police.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead, police said, while the driver cooperated with authorities. Alcohol is not thought to have played a role in the collision but the cause remains under investigation, according to police.
