SANTA ANA, CA — An Orange County police department issued a warning for World Cup fans in the city: celebrate your team, but don't participate in street takeovers.
The warning comes after the Santa Ana Police Department cracked down on a street takeover that spawned last Wednesday after Mexico beat Czechia 3-0.
Footage circulated on social media showing a driver doing doughnuts during a street takeover tied to the celebration, near 4th and Sycamore streets in Santa Ana.

Santa Ana PD spokesperson Natalie Garcia told KTLA intentionally posted the video on their own social media page to send a message to anyone thinking of recreating the act.
"We put out a message before the World Cup started. WE're very excited for the World Cup, we want people to come out to our downtown area. It's a very vibrant city with lots of restaurants and bars," Garcia said. "But then again, we want to remind people that if you're going to come out to downtown Santa Ana, we want you to celebrate safely and responsibly."
