Police Say Man Ran Over, Killed Victim in Orange

A 28-year-old man is under arrest for allegedly killing another man by running him over with a vehicle in Orange, police said Sunday.

ORANGE, CA — A 28-year-old man is under arrest for allegedly killing another man by running him over with a vehicle in Orange, police said Sunday.

Officers received reports of a fight in the 600 block of South Fashion Park at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the Orange Police Department.

Police say that before officers arrived, 28-year-old Abrahan Perez of Orange left the area in a vehicle. A short time later, Perez allegedly drove back toward the same address, "maneuvered his vehicle onto a courtyard area in front of an apartment complex, and accelerated toward the adult male victim," police said.

The vehicle struck the victim, causing critical injuries. The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Perez was taken into custody and will be booked into the Orange County Jail on homicide charges.

The identity of the victim was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
